STEM Ambassadors

TSN is the Norfolk contract holder for the STEMNET managed STEM Ambassadors programme. Our role is to recruit professionals from Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) backgrounds - either working in STEM industries or with a background in STEM - and linking them with teachers across Norfolk, from both primary and secondary schools.

Already trained and waiting for opportunities to get into school are people doing apprenticeships, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, senior scientists, engineers

Are you involved with the STEM Industries?

Please go to the national STEM Ambassadors webpage, and click on Join Online from the menu on the right-hand side.

If you based in Norfolk your application will be passed to us and we will be in touch shortly to offer you a half-day Induction course, and to arrange your CRB disclosure (this is now done online using STEMNET's secure Online Disclosure System, ODS). Once these stages are complete, you will receive regular updates of opportunities for one-off events with schools, or you may wish to pursue a traditional TSN partnership.

Are you a teacher wishing to request the services of a STEM Ambassador?

Ambassador activities are many and varied and we want them to be useful to you and become an integrated part of your curriculum planning whether in the sciences, maths, D&T, ICT or in more general terms, as part of your Careers Days - what better way to guide future career paths than by hearing directly from those who have been there and bought the T-shirt? The national website will give you lots of additional information about how Ambassadors can support STEM Clubs and other events.

Please contact us directly or use the STEM Networking facility to make a request for an Ambassador. Please give us as much information as possible about your requirements, and plenty of notice please, so we will be more likely to be able to satisfy your request.

Ambassadors are FREE and there is no limit to the numer of different Ambassadors you can work wth ...

All Ambassadors are in possession of an enhanced CRB check but will vary in their experience of working in schools. They will however all possess a great enthusiasm for their subject.
