While the rest of the world started to think about the countdown to New Year 2009, the 29th December 2008 marked TSN's launch of Countdown 439: an ambitious programme aiming to get a scientist from the Norwich Biosciences Institutes into each and every Norfolk School on the first day of Science Week 2010, allowing everyone to mark the Centenary celebrations and 'do their bit' to hopefully inspire the next generation of scientists.
Whether your a school already involved with TSN or not contact us to tell us you'd like to be involved in Countdown 439, we don't want to impose ourselves on you!
If you are TEACHER email tsn439@bbsrc.ac.uk to tell us that your school would like a visit from a scientist and indicate what you were thinking you would like them to do - activity / talk / assembly. The finer details can be sorted directly between you and your matched scientist. Also indicate if 12th March or any day the following week is better for you. The growth of this project can be followed here, as well as contact details for all schools.
The matching process will be electronic, when we receive an email from you saying you'd like to be invovled we will list you on the project page and this will alert scientists of your interest. Interested scientists will be signing-up online and this will generate an auto email sent to the school's office@ email address - ask the admin team to look out for it, it will be entitled 'First contact from a scientist'
If you are a SCIENTIST at JIC or IFR or an ex-JIC scientist who will be or could be in Norfolk on or around FRIDAY 12TH MARCH 2010 follow the Web-tool link below to sign-up. If you are unable to access the NBI-Intranet, contact us directly and we will sign-you up to the school of your choice (if you haven't been beaten to it!).

Thanks to Mike Harvey, there is now a NBI-Intranet sign-up sheet for your participation in this project. You are now 2 clicks away from signing-up; thank you for getting involved:
