Some school science activities need relatively simple equipment, but it needs to be well made and ready to use so that teachers do not have to spend time making or adapting or mending.
We have kits on a variety of topics and suitable for key stages KS1 - KS5. They may be borrowed by all schools in the area and are listed and described below. If appropriate there will be accompanying training for the teachers supplied by local scientists.
At the moment there is no charge to schools for borrowing the kits, however, we do ask that schools take care of them and return them complete and in good condition. To this end we have introduced a membership scheme from September 2003. You will be asked to sign-up to the KitClub before you take-out your first kit *.
Teachers are responsible for collecting and returning the kits to the John Innes Centre on Thursdays and Fridays only..
Click on the name of a particular kit from the table below, to see a full description of the kit together with photographs, so you know what you are getting in advance of collecting the kit.
