
An easy way to gain access to free-to-loan, high quality resources designed to facilitate practical investigative science. The topics covered by our resournces are what teachers have asked for, fitting with our rigid ethos of being a teacher-led organisation, providing what teachers want.
Recognised in 2005 by then DfES, our best practice in this area was expanded to 3 regional Science Learning Centres in the National Kit Club project.
Our kits our always evolving and improving in direct response to teacher feedback - from the people who use them and who we aim to support. Feedback forms are icluded in every kit and we encourage you to complete one for every kit you borrow.
The first step is to get your school to join the Kit Club. Application forms can be downloaded here and need to be signed by the head teacher.
The kits are usually booked out in advance (up to 1 school year ahead)
The usual loan period is for a half-term or less. The kits are booked in 1 week blocks, up to a maximum of 8 weeks.
It is your respnsibility to collect and return kits to TSN at the John Innes Centre, preferably on Thursday or Friday. Directions here
If you think getting to/from John Innes Centre will be problem, ask about our Kit Couriers when you contact Carol.

Members of the public who generously deliver kits to hard-to-reach schools. if your school is some distance from our base at JIC, ask Carol about the possibility of receiving or returning a kit by Courier.
